If you wanted to separate things, there are plugins that allow you to pull only certain categories on the main blog page. Then you could use those categories as direct links for those sections.

You could add a custom post type, but that would be overkill if they are all articles.

Or you could set up a WPMU, a multiuser site, but that would also most likely be overkill.

In short WordPress can do anything. :x
soupking on "Making a "Multi-Blog"" http://forums.themeshaper.com/topic/making-a-multi-blog#post-27626 Thu, 20 Sep 2012 04:04:46 +0000 soupking 27626@http://forums.themeshaper.com/
Hi everybody,

My wife is a writer and starting a blog. I'm trying to help her get setup with a blog with a main "current articles" page, but also has a menu that can link to other article blogs by type of article. She writes in many different areas and would like to do something that she can have as one main content blog.

Can Thematic do that? Or is there a basic tutorial that shows one how to make a blog a...multi-blog? Since I need to have multiple images attached to my posts I would like to add a slideshow (for each post), showing up where the full-image custom field is now set.
I looked up between several types of slideshows and I found one, powered by jQuery Cycle, allowing to create multiple slideshows, as I need. This can be seen at:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/meteor-slides/
At the moment the custom field in the gallery post setting called "Path to Full-Size Image (500x375)" accepts only path to single image. Is there any possibility to set the gallery instead of a image? I tried putting the short code as value (example: [meteor_slideshow slideshow="myworks"] but of course it didn't work.
Hope someone could help me with this! thanks a lot.
