Specifically in footer-extension.php you have

if (function_exists('childtheme_override_siteinfo')) { function thematic_siteinfo() { childtheme_override_siteinfo(); } } else { function thematic_siteinfo() { global $options, $blog_id; foreach ($options as $value) { if (get_option( $value['id'] ) === FALSE) { $$value['id'] = $value['std']; } else { if (THEMATIC_MB) { $$value['id'] = get_blog_option( $blog_id, $value['id'] ); } else { $$value['id'] = get_option( $value['id'] ); } } } /* footer text set in theme options */ echo do_shortcode(__(stripslashes(thematic_footertext($thm_footertext)), 'thematic')); } add_action('thematic_footer', 'thematic_siteinfo', 30); }

but because add_action('thematic_footer', 'thematic_siteinfo', 30); is inside the option that the user has not defined an override function, it needs to be added to the childtheme_override_siteinfo function. So Helgathevikings example above becomes:

function childtheme_override_siteinfo)(){ echo "site powered by bacon"; add_action('thematic_footer', 'thematic_siteinfo', 30); }

or else it does nothing. This is also true of childtheme_override_siteinfoopen() and childtheme_override_siteinfoclose() but I am assuming this is not what you intended.

Thanks!
helgatheviking on "Where in Thematic is site info links" http://forums.themeshaper.com/topic/where-in-thematic-is-site-info-links#post-26346 Sun, 15 Apr 2012 16:07:29 +0000 helgatheviking 26346@http://forums.themeshaper.com/
yes it is a theme option you can change under appearance > theme options

you could also override the thematic_siteinfo() function with your own custom childtheme_override_siteinfo()

function childtheme_override_siteinfo)(){ echo "site powered by bacon"; }

d_rec on "Where in Thematic is site info links" http://forums.themeshaper.com/topic/where-in-thematic-is-site-info-links#post-26344 Sun, 15 Apr 2012 13:21:29 +0000 d_rec 26344@http://forums.themeshaper.com/
You'll need to add this to your functions.php in your child theme

//add me to post footer function get_me($atts) { return '<a href="http://yourwebsite.com">your name</a>'; } add_shortcode('me', 'get_me');

Than to display, go to theme options under appearance and add [me] - you'll see other shortcode examples below the box to.
Karl-Arne on "Where in Thematic is site info links" http://forums.themeshaper.com/topic/where-in-thematic-is-site-info-links#post-26343 Sun, 15 Apr 2012 12:34:42 +0000 Karl-Arne 26343@http://forums.themeshaper.com/
Helle.
I have been going through at book from sitepoint about WordPress.
I have laern much from the book but lack information of how to update the link below footer were site-info is given.

It is written at bottom of the pages:
Driving by WordPress. These are really useful tools for seeing what styles are being overridden or not applied, occasionally an inherited style may overrule another style (that we would like). You can overrule styles with the !important instruction which says to the browser - this is the style I'd like to apply. So you could try something like adding this into your stylesheet:

.sf-menu a:visited {color: #enteryourhexhere !important;}

If we have a link to your website we can then view your stylesheet and see what may be causing the issue with your visited links. I assume you've copied the Divs and Class's from Helga's great work on Thematic menus demystified, see number 6 "Styling the Beast" - http://forums.themeshaper.com/topic/thematic-menus-demystified-1. Apply the visited styling to all the logical levels you need after looking at where Helga outlines the top level styling, 1st level, etc, etc.

Also, are you using a child theme, as normally the styles you enter this stylesheet should overrule the parent theme (thematic) - although there are occasions where this is not the case. If you're not using a child theme, I'd recommend you do for ease of customisation and future upgrades.

Someone else may have a better suggestion but that's how I'd approach this problem :)
crashprojects on "Cant change visited link color in thematic menu" http://forums.themeshaper.com/topic/cant-change-visited-link-color-in-thematic-menu#post-24631 Wed, 04 Jan 2012 16:23:31 +0000 crashprojects 24631@http://forums.themeshaper.com/
I've gone through the thematic menus demystified post and it was awesome and so helpful, but for some reason I still can't figure out how to change the visited color. If you want to remove something with css you can do so with display:none. Pointer-events is a part of css3 that if I understand correctly is supposed to be used when two elements overlap eachother and you want mouse-clicks to register on the element that is underneath. As with most of the css3 properties, it will not work in IE. For sure not in any version before IE9, and maybe not even there.

What do you want to remove and why?
