  1. I've posted this on the WordPress.org forum but I'm not sure if it's a WP issue or a Thematic issue, so I'll replicate here and see if someone has an answer:

I can get the video embed to work, as in, video appears (yay!) but it's producing errors for me.

Link to site (most likely NSFW-ish)
    http://foreverdyingbrightly.com/blog/2009/12/welcome-to-alienpredator-hell-a-wholly-owned-subsidiary-of-weyland-yutani-inc/

I'm fussy about errors and wanted to yank this when the errors showed up but I thought I might not be the only one experiencing them.

This is the link to the error messages
    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fforeverdyingbrightly.com%2Fblog%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&ss=1&group=0&verbose=1&user-agent=W3C_Validator%2F1.654

my doc type is xhtml transitional and I'm running Thematic

If anyone has any tips for how I can resolve this, please let me know!

  2. Hi,

    blame it on youtube.com :)

oEmbed takes the code delivered by the server and integrates it into your blog. And this code causes the error messages.

  3. ah, thank you :)
    *shakes fist at youtube*
I'll go back to my old method of posting a linked pic of the youtube video. It might not be as pretty as the video playing instantly but I've gotten to like coming up all green in validation :D

  4. You could use Viper's Video Quicktags .. it will embed the youtube.com videos and others using valid code.
