a child theme, Shaba-who?

  1. No, Shabadoo. I have a partly finished child-theme available for download over at my site. Here's a link:

    It's intended for folks like me who are relatively new to Thematic and child-themes, as well as new to PHP and jQuery. I think its a reasonably decent example of how to do things with hooks and filters, add jquery stuff like sliders and cufon fonts, and a few other things like using theme-options. I use it as a reference as I build my Thematic themeing arsenal.

    The code is (mostly) valid, and cross-browser friendly, so hopefully i'm not passing on any bad code or habits. I tried to implement everything the "right" way according to the docs and this forum.

    Feel free to comment, just try not to pound me into the sand, it's a demo, really, not a complete site. But if there's something done that just isn't right, I'd like to know about it so I can improve my work.

  3. cool! when i am done ajaxing up my options panel one of the next things i want to learn is how to add a slider, so your theme will be a big help there.
