i just removed a bunch of styles and ended up with a top menu that was pretty much an unstyled bullet list (normal, vertical style). this didn't surprise me -- what did surprise me is that superfish was still working, and looks uncannily like the jQuery style expanding list that I actually need to make.

has anyone played with using it this way? should i bother? or just remove and shart fresh w/ jQuery ? (actually i'm not attached to jQuery -- i just suspect that it would be the easiest to get working.)

speaking of jQuery, it looks like tons of it in there already (in the thematic files, in the wp-admin, and especially in wp-includes. am i right in assuming that:

    * wp-admin files only get used for WP admin interface
    * the jquery in thematic install is a small bit for a specific purpose
    * wp-includes contains a full version of jQuery, and i can easily call functions from it

sorry all the questions. i'm a cabable but slow newbie. sometimes it's quicker to just ask the experts!

thanks! i'm really enjoying all of this so far!

  2. Hi,

.. sorry for this delay .. had to move my office to a beautiful new location.

    - wp-admin files are only used for the Dashboard / WP-Admin interface.
    - we're using jQuery for Thematic for all that bells and whistles around the CSS menu.
    - wp-includes contains a full version of jQuery.
