  1. Hello,

I'm slowly getting my head around Thematic and I'm in a position where I want to hack the Neutica Plus theme and customise it a little.

Basically I'm looking to add a second 'leading sidebar' above the current leading sidebar. Or even underneath the primary and secondary sidebars. I'm thinking of adding some widgets which contain advert images to spruce my page up a little. Much like the Flickr widget.

Can someone point me in the general direction of where to start looking? I understand I'd be modifying functions.php but that's as far as I've got :)

  2. Thinking out loud here but is it possible to just copy and paste the block of code corresponding to the leading sidebar and rename it to say, leading_sidebar2 or something?

  3. Hi MoifMurphy-

It's difficult for me to give advice on a purchased child theme issue. Especially when I do not own or use it and have not read any of the documentation on it.

There's a lot of customization in a purchased child theme's CSS and functions that extend beyond what is freely available to the members of this forum.

Hopefully someone around here with experience with Neutica Plus can help you out.

  5. Hi Moif,
Yes, you can pretty much just duplicate the code if you’d like.
You may want to name it something like 'Ad Space Sidebar' so it’s a bit more clear what the difference is in the back-end.

Using thematic hooks/filters, there are two places you can put this new sidebar:

    • Above the Primary and Secondary sidebars using: thematic_abovemainasides
    • Below the Primary and Secondary sidebars using: thematic_belowmainasides

    Hope that helps some.
