    Hello -

Let me start with the buttering up part :) (though it is all true) - this has been the most helpful place online regarding thematic - so thank you.

Now to the question - I know exactly how to add an image in the header as a background image, using CSS, which I am familiar with. However, I am still a beginner when it comes to php, though I understand most of it, just never really developed with it. Anyhow, I want to add a header image as a foreground image, maybe in it's own div perhaps? The reason is because I want a repeating background header image, which I know how to do.

So, what php file do I need to modify in order to accomplish this?

By the way, I am building my own child theme based on thematic, so I am not editing thematic directly. Thanks in advance for your help

Okay, nevermind..I was able to get it working correctly, by using the functions.php code listed here: http://www.cozmoslabs.com/2009/05/28/add-a-header-image-to-thematic-the-easy-way/

Now on to getting the access nav bar to stretch across the whole width of the site!
