  1. This has to be a really simple problem, but I can't seem to fix it right away: When I check the "Allow Comments" checkbox in the edit page section, nothing really happens. I would like readers to be able to submit comments on a few of my pages only.

I'm using Thematic 0.9 with a child theme that changes nothing, just disables the sidebar. www.pr-roman.dk.

    Thanks for input.

  2. Hey Lasse,

WP-Admin / Pages / Edit .. Under Custom Fields add a key + value of "comments" to enable comments on this page.

    Cheers,

  3. Thanks Chris, but I'm not sure I understand you correctly.

Do you want me to edit the file called: \WP-admin\page.php ?

Or do you want me to look in a folder called: \WP-admin\pages\ ?(There is no such folder)

On the dashboard-interface I can't find anything that looks what you describe.

    Puzzled,
    Lasse

  5. Now I get it, thanks very much, works like a charm.

One final question on comments: I want to change the supporting text (like "Post a comment", "Name", "One comment", etc.) into the blog language. So far I just copied the file comments.php into the child theme folder and edited the relevant test strings.

Is that the best way to do it?

    Thanks again,
    Lasse

  6. Yep .. you could do this by tricking a "translation" .. need to think 'bout this .. It can be done but I need to check if we need to protect it against the upgrade functionality coming with WordPress 2.8.

I'm trying to install a comment link at the bottom of a page. The comment function on posts works fine, but I need the same function on another page. I've tried all of the above without luck. I'm on a child theme of Thematic. Thanx

Four hours later...Still can't get comments on my page. I tried the following; I typed in the word comment in the custom field box under name and field. I've tried pasting code in my CSS. Nothing works. Is it possible to add comments to pages?
    Thanks all
