    Hi folks,

    I am working on a thematic child theme for the first time and am having an issue figuring out a background gap that is appearing right at the top of the page.

    The site I am working on is www.splurgehandbags.com/blog

    There is a black gap at the top before the header starts. I have tried zeroing out the top margins for header and branding, and top padding for body but no joy.

    Can any of you css gurus see the error of my ways?

  2. Might be the culprit:

    #main {
    padding-top: 30px;
    }

    Hi lastraw - thanks for your reply,

    I checked it out and as I though, the padding on #main only applies to the container div below the header - so adjustments to that padding didn't work.

    I am not positive what I did to fix this as I kept on going back and forth making little changes. In the end I removed the hard-coded menu I have in there, and upon previewing it, realized something in it was the issue. I placed the navigation menu list in it's own container div and somehow this corrected it issue.

    Wil
