can you filter functions in plugins?

  1. maybe i have thematic on the brain now, but i was wondering if any had filtered functions from plugins? is that possible? i am using the efficient related posts plugin (or would like to) as i think its approach it more economical for site performance. however, i'd also like to add some thumbnails into its html output.

    oh.. and what the heck does $this-> mean? i have sussed out that it pertains to 'object oriented' programming (whatever that is).. but you can't google "this"... you get every page ever made on the web!

  2. In PHP $this is a variable reserved for internal use within an object that has been defined.

  3. thanks gene. your definition makes perfect sense. but the rest i will have to look at that more when i have time to let me head explode from too much information.
