  1. i was wondering how to change the padding only on front page as I have a slide show and want it right up the top and leave the default settings for the other pages.

    Thanks

    I presume if you use .home #header {display:none;} that would remove the header on that page. Any further padding change by .home #specific division {}

    You may have to tweak it a bit depending on if your front page is "static" vs posts page. Use view source to see the classes available to you once you set up your page and your read settings. For my site, .home didn't work. Instead I set up a function to assign an additional style sheet for my front page.

    <?php
    //Conditional stylesheet for front page
    function frontpage_css() {
    	wp_reset_query();
    	if (is_page_template('front-page.php') ) {?>
    		<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="<?php echo
    		bloginfo('stylesheet_directory') ?>/frontpage.css" /> <?php }
    	}
    add_action('wp_head', 'frontpage_css');
    ?>

    My slideshow is below a larger home header image on my front page, and the additional stylesheet made it easy http://wineworldwarehouse.com/test/
