    Hi

    How can create a background frame of different color for the whole site like this http://img109.imageshack.us/i/capture2ml.png/
    instead of the default mode where the ids spanning on the whole width like this

    ?
    I use the thematic layout 2c-l-fixed.css.

    Thank you.

  2. Use Firebug http://getfirebug.com/ to isolate the CSS properties of your site and maybe try #wrapper {background-color:#505050;}

  3. W3Schools will come in handy as a reference for your CSS properties http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp

    Thanks
    but actually #wrapper {background-color:#808080;} doesn't color just the general frame but everything

    Do you have an idea on how to achieve what I want?

    Thanks

  6. Check out the Thematic Structure and it'll list common divs you can target with CSS. You might want #main,#container or #content - I'm not sure. http://bluemandala.com/thematic/thematic-structure.html

  7. using firebug you'd see that you can do this easily by assigning a width to the #wrapper div. (and assign white as the background on #wrapper and gray as the bg on body)

    Thank you very much
    I added this in my style.css

    body {
    background-color:#808080;
    }
    #wrapper {
    width:1000px;
    margin:0px auto;
    background-color:#fff;
    }

    and it works!
    Tanks
