    Hi

    I followed Ian Stewarts guide to creating a wordpress theme as I had to transfer a static website to wordpress and I have been successful all apart from the navigation and its drop down. I was hoping that someone could let me know exaclty what I am doing wrong.

    Here is the original website : http://www.hotellameije.com/ (You can see the navigation that is required)

    Here is the website that I have created based on this website but has wordpress pages / navigation and 2 widgets on the left hand side : http://dansiop.co.uk/hlm/

    I just can not work out why the drop down navigation isnt showing. I can not even get the down arrows to show that there are child pages.

  2. On your development version your missing the script

    <!--
    ddsmoothmenu.init({
    mainmenuid: "smoothmenu1", //menu DIV id
    orientation: 'h', //Horizontal or vertical menu: Set to "h" or "v"
    classname: 'ddsmoothmenu', //class added to menu's outer DIV
    //customtheme: ["#1c5a80", "#18374a"],
    contentsource: "markup" //"markup" or ["container_id", "path_to_menu_file"]
    })
    //-->

    and the id to make it work

    div class="ddsmoothmenu" id="smoothmenu1">

    I thought it was to do with that but I am unsure how to add it as my header.php has the following line which controls the menun:

    <?php wp_page_menu( 'sort_column=menu_order' ); ?>

    I have managed to change it to

    <div class="ddsmoothmenu">

    but I am not sure how to change it to:

    <div class="ddsmoothmenu" id="smoothmenu1">

    Any suggestions on how I could do it?

    The same logic could be applied to other elements such as divs
