I want to style a custom front/home page with custom css styles only limited to that page. So far, in the forums i've figured out how to -

    1. create a custom page template
    2. call it from a page called home

but how do i style it with custom css? i tried Chris' solution of custom layouts for different pages and though i don't want to change the column layouts, i definitely want to play with the content area. Has someone done it? can somebody point me to the right direction please?

  2. Hi,

    use the body class page-template-templatename-php.

The templatename-php part is the file name of the template.

Thanks Chris, but im still much of a noobie. Do u mean i can put a class in my exisiting CSS file? like - #page-template-front-php. and configure it?

But the areas in content use stock tags used on all other pages too, like entry-meta, entry-utility etc. I want to change their look only in Home page and category pages.

Basically, I want to create my home and category pages to show only x no of post excerpts without any tags, comments etc.
