  1. Hi

I'm building a custom Thematic child theme where I would like to have the option to add a full-width banner image across the top of each page

Seems that the Featured Image option would suit this perfectly, but I'm unable to find much info on how this can be customised

I notice that setting a featured image on the standard Thematic theme displays a small version of the image right-aligned, but it doesn't display anything in my child theme

Is there any info available as to how this option can be used?

The next step would be for me to understand how such a banner image could be automatically sized for full-width or standard layouts

    Thanks!

unless you have changed your index loop or filtered thematic_content or done something thumbnails will automatically also work in your child theme.

  4. since space36 didn't respond 8 months ago i am going to go out on a limb and say he/she isn't going to reply. but if you can be very specific about what you are trying to do i will try to give you a hand. a good formula for getting help goes like this:

    1. what are you trying to do? (descriptions, pictures, links) anything that will make it crystal clear what you want
    2. what have you tried in order to accomplish this? (we're hear to help you learn thematic, not do it for you... unless you want to hire any of us)
    3. what results are you getting from what you are trying?
    4. how is this different from what you are expecting?

    cheers.
