    Greetings All,

    I'm a newbie to wordpress, and creating child themes. With Thematic, it's a super framework, I can easily follow how the customisation process goes]. Offline, [with the apache testing environment - ApacheTriad] I've been able to style my page, however, there's a little bit more 'tweaking' that is necessary. With my customisation, I've kind-a hit a snag, and would appreciate all the help I can get. Would someone be kind enough to help me do the following

    Level 1 Pages:
    - Page Content
    - Article Listing [select top 5 articles from a chosen category] after content
    - Have the 'sidebar' activated with: 1 level subpage menu

    Would I have to edit the 'functions.php' file, if yes, which code should I put there?

    hi lqunta,

    I have used this code to add a dynamic subpage menu before, is this what your looking for?

    <?php
    $children = wp_list_pages('title_li=&child_of='.$post->ID.'&echo=0');
    if ($children) { ?>

    <ul>
      <?php echo $children; ?>
    </ul>
    <?php } ?>
