I want to customize the text and placing of the entry-meta, that handles the information about the post author, post date and category.

    1. Especially, I want to change the 'By-" to include more specific information.

    2. And, I want to put the category and comments here instead of at the bottom of post.

Guys, Ian,... any ideas how i could do it? i've searched here on forums but haven't found any topics that deal with this.

wow! I've been able to much by playing around with filters in my child functions.php. BUt still i cant get the date and time to go above the title post instead of coming after the author name. Having been able to do all this, (guys.. believe me, its a godly feeling when ur able to find out these knacks out of the blue), I have more in my mind now ---

    1. How can I customize the info for author in different posts. ( thinking about putting a little author info in guest posts, and links to their site)

  3. If you check out the trunk version you'll see I've made thematic_postheader() & thematic_postfooter() way easier to filter.

To filter the author you can check for their user ID and do a conditional, filtering the entry meta in each case.

  4. Or you could check for their user ID and do a conditional, filtering the_content() in each case: adding a "block" to each post.

  5. And as for the date and time: you could add a containing div around thematic_postheader() using a filter, make the div {position:relative;} and position the date with {position:absolute;}.

thanks Ian, as always you have the answers!

Now, I'm faced with another puzzle. I copied your style of search bar from Theseus and placed on right top of the page. Now, I want to put a few text links above the search bar. I have been able to make a containing div, but i'm clueless how to put the text links and where? do they go in header.php? cud u do me a small sample of lets say 'about' or 'contact'?

  7. Could you please open a new thread with a new topic for your last question?! This question is definitely of interest for other Thematic users and it is guaranteed that more people will read a new topic rather than an old one.

    Thanks for your help.

    Cheers,

    Chris
