I am trying to figure out how to make a change on my drop down menu. THe menu is located at www.thebewell.com/wordpress. I want the drop down menu to have a white background with a grey stroke with rounded corners. Here is a link to a image of what I am trying to achieve: http://www.thebewell.com/images/dropMenu_Sample.jpg. How can I accomplish this? How can I remove the vertical border on the left of About? I only want the divider line between each menu item, not at the very beginning to very end.

Also, I am totally new to php and and finding it hard to figure anything out in creating a business website for my wife using WordPress. Is Thematic a good theme for this or should I just be starting with the basic twenty eleven theme for this sort of use?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  2. here is my mega thread on everything related to menus:

there is a section devoted to CSS for the menu, called styling the beast

thematic is a great theme to work with and you can build anything with it. but honestly if you are totally new to PHP, there is going to be a steep learning curve. it is exactly like learning a new language, you won't be good at it overnight.

  4. in the trenches? i wish i knew the shortcut, but i can only think that a lot of painstaking trial and error is what you'll learn from it. that coupled with an obsessive streak to iterate until you get a solution. oh and lots of googling.
