Display content over the sidebars

(4 posts)
  1. Hello,

    I use Stu Nicholls' CSS tooltips for some content but I have troubles displaying them over the sidebars in acamas (sidebars overlap them). The page in question is http://rainrider.eu/?page_id=139 . I would like to be able to overflow the sidebars only for the tooltips and stick with the default acamas behaviour for the rest of the site.

    I'm sorry for not being able to figure this one by myself and hope it won't take much of your time to answer this question.

    Thank you in advance

  2. I just changed the size of the content area and the sidebar for pages by adding these lines to style.css

    body.page #container {
    	width: 700px;
    }

    body.page #content {
    	width: 680px;
    }

    body.page .main-aside {
    	width: 220px;
    }

    Got the idea from http://www.wupperpiraten.de/2009/03/how-to-remove-the-sidebar-from-a-certain-page/ , so thanks Chris for it.

    It resolves my problem for the time being, would be very happy though if someone could figure out a way to overlay the tooltips above other elements (areas above and beneath content area, sidebars)

    Best wishes
    Anton

    Hey everyone, I am new here. I've been using Thesis for some time but am trying to transition to Thematic (don't tell, heh).

    anyhow, I want to remove sidebars from all pages

    I found this from the previous link
    -------------------------------------
    function remove_sidebar() {
    if (is_page('forum')) {
    return FALSE;
    } else {
    return TRUE;
    }
    }
    add_filter('thematic_sidebar', 'remove_sidebar');
    --------------------------------------

    But what I'm thinking is that I need to make it look like this

    -------------------------------------
    function remove_sidebar() {
    return FALSE;
    } else {
    return TRUE;
    }
    add_filter('thematic_sidebar', 'remove_sidebar');
    --------------------------------------

    Am I correct by just removing the following?

    if (is_page('forum')) { }

    Actually, I think I got it.

    -----------------

    function kill_sidebar() {
    if (is_page()) {
    return FALSE;
    } else {
    return TRUE;
    }
    }
    add_action('thematic_sidebar', 'kill_sidebar');

    --------------------

    Yea?
