  1. Hi,

    I'm confused on how to fix this problem.
    I'm trying to display a thumbnail and custom field for pages and posts, in a main asides to the left of the content in a 3c fixed layout. I have managed to nicely display these items above the main asides by using the following code in functions.php

    // Thumbs and custom field
    function thumbnail() {
    ?>
      <div id="primary" class="aside main-aside">
        <ul>
          <?php $postid = get_the_ID(); ?>
          <?php the_post_thumbnail(); ?>
            <div class="callout-caption">
              <h3>
               "<?php echo get_post_meta($postid, 'callout_caption', true); ?>"
              </h3>
            </div><!-- end callout-caption -->
        </ul>
    </div><!-- end primary main aside -->
    <?php
    }
    add_action('thematic_abovemainasides', 'thumbnail');

    But now any widgets that I place inside this main asides displays over-top of the thumb and custom field. It appears that the div for the widgetted main asides doesn't shift down below the div for the thumb/custom field.

    I can't for the life of me figure out how to solve this?
    And something tells me that I'm going to feel rather silly when the solution is pointed out to me... but feel free to make me feel silly!

    Thanks in advance!

  2. I decided to stop beating myself over the head and grabbed a php code widget plugin to handle this, so I can remove the thematic_abovemainasides() hook from my functions.php

    So, now I can have the php code in my sidebar along with widgets.

    I still don't consider this solved since there must be a way to add php code to the sidebars without resorting to using a plugin widget.
