Hi
I am creating my own child theme from Thematic.
Question : Some plugins that I just installed require to add some php code to the loop in the category.php
In the category.php , I can not see any loop....
Do I have to create my own category.php file ?
If yes, how can I be suure it won't ovverride the Thematic category.php ?

Well...Night always bring some refreshment
SO :
I edit this with the following suggestion that might answer my own problem :- I do not create the category.php
- I let the category.php file in the Thematic folder
- I just edit the functions.php that I created in my Child Theme folder and keep modifying it each time I need to customize my theme...
Am I right ?

you can modify the category loop from your functions file. If you are using 0.9.7.4 then you can just define the function childtheme_override_category_loop().

Yes, Tx, but :
There is no category loop in the TH. functions.php. Its structure does not allow that. The only loop is in content-extension.php located in extensions...
Btw,I use Thematic 0.9.6.2

Well, the solution resides in the following and excellent thread
http://forums.themeshaper.com/topic/get-the-image-for-category-038-tag-archivesMy purpose was to insert a thumbnail in the categories...The plugin get-the-image is excellent, flexible and quite powerful.
So Thematic + Get The Image + the thread above = SUCCESS
:-))
