DropDown Menu problem

  1. Hi,

I've just started using Thematic (Thanks for a great piece of work) and I have run into a small problem with the dropdown menu.

I use a javascript gallery to display images on single posts and the gallery is conflicting with the dropdown menu. It is reducing the width of the sub menus.

On the frontpage, where there is no gallery it works perfectly:
    Home Page
(The theme isn't finished yet, so don't be too hard on it)

But on a single post it gets reduced:
    Single Post

I tried editing the thematic-dropdowns.js in the minimum width line but that didn't make any difference.

Unless I can fix it either the gallery or Thematic will have to go and it will be the gallery but I'm hoping somebody here can help.

I have also emailed the author of the script in case he can help.

    TIA

  2. Just an update:

    I tried another gallery (http://github.com/nathansearles/loopedSlider/tree/master)
and got exactly the same result.

I'm not a coder (Obviously!) but it must be something to do with calling jQuery in the header.

I'll try and fnd a mootools gallery and see what happens.

  3. Hi,

sorry .. but I can't access your blog at the moment.

Could you provide some more details which features the gallery should have?! Maybe NextGen is something for you. This one works on my site.

    Cheers,

    Chris

  4. Hi, thanks for the reply. Just after I posted all my domains stopped working. :(

It just needs to scroll through images really. WOuld be nice to have thumbnails but that's not so important.

I only started this becasue my Lightbox plugin stopped working.

I'll check out NextGen (Although I think I already did) and post again when my sites are up.

    Thanks again.

  5. Okay, my sites seem to be back up. NextGen looks great but it may be too featured for my needs, plus I have gigabytes of media in non-wp folders that I would need to use easily, coupled with the fact that I can't seem to install any plugins on my two WordPress installations, all point to a simple javascript solutions.

    OFFTOPIC
I installed NextGen in both installations but it didn't appear in either. Something has gone very wrong with my hsoting recently but I have no idea what.
