  1. Hey all,
I have searched the whole web and this forum but couldn't find the proper answer.
I have latest Gallery theme, Thematic and Simple Video Embedder to display videos but I couldn't manage to display them where they should be. I can add embed videos into the WP content place where the description is. The place it should be stays blank for sure. The second problem I have is to make Gallery play my SWF files as well as the embed ones. What am I supposed to do in order to let Gallery play my animtions? Please remember that I am new at WordPress

Thank you so much for your time

  2. Okay, I solved how to use embed there but still I have a problem. It displays alt tag as a text near my video:

I guess it is about theme, but I have no idea how to fix that...

Here is the code displayed in browser:

    <img src="
    <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="500" height="375" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="src" value="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=6093462&server=vimeo.com&show_title=1&show_byline=1&show_portrait=0&color=00ADEF&fullscreen=1" />
    <embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="500" height="375" src="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=6093462&server=vimeo.com&show_title=1&show_byline=1&show_portrait=0&color=00ADEF&fullscreen=1"></embed>
    </object>" alt=""/>

Why it is displayed in <img> tag?

  3. My gut says the best place to get a proper answer for this at the child theme's site since the question has more to do with that theme's development and design than the framework's.
Thats bizarre the way the <object> is sandwiched in an <img> tag. I'm assuming that you didn't intentionally do that. I tested what your attempting on my localhost and I cant recreate your problem. My tests all show successful posting of url based video and embed coded video. I think that you may have input something wrong on the post write page or the childtheme or plugin has freaked.
If i were in your shoes these would be the questions I'd ask myself:
-Am I using the most current and/or recommended versions of the necessary software, themes and plugins?
-Are there any conflicts with other plugins?
-Have I made any changes to the child theme's functions.php that could have caused this?
-How did I input the embed code? For vimeo video: in the Post Video Options Box you need only put in the url to the video and the desired size which for that theme should be max 500px x 375px. As far as I can tell you don't need to even include a fullsize image url in the gallery post settings at all.

    Good Luck -

  4. Hi, thank you for your reply! I looked first to designers blog, there I found same questions like me but none of them were answered. Well, the funny thing is I didn't see the Video Post box below, now I can add embed videos peacefully from Vimeo but the SWF files. And the strange thing is, the content header and content explanation place near the videos (the one which includes next and previous links) gets narrowed if I upload videos, and the next and previous links are gone... I think there isn't any conflicts with the plugins, deactivated them and it stands still without links.

  5. Good I'm glad this helped. Also for the swf files you can just use the Post Video Options Box to paste in an embed code here is an example of the code that should be pasted for your cubic love entry.

    <embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="500" height="400" src="http://www.pixogen.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/anim_cubiclove.swf"></embed>

For more insight on how this works consult the plugin website. I believe the workflow intended by the theme developer to use that video post box to embed all video. I'm not sure what was going wrong for you but it'd be great If you'd take the time go back to the designer's blog and see if you can help one of those who may be having a similar problem.

  6. Thanks for this people, helped me out no end and I was tearing my hair out. Found I could add multiple swfs to Gallery Pro using 'Simple Video Embed'.

Here's the code for those who want it:

    <p><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://glimmer.ie/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/Vogue_728x90_final.swf" width="728" height="90"></embed></p>
    <p><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://glimmer.ie/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/MyHome_Overseas_728_2007.swf" width="728" height="90"></embed></p>

That said there is now a conflict between the gallery slideshow and video embed ie: If video plugin is activated I can see the multiple swfs, but not the gallery slideshow and if the video plugin is deactivated, I can see the gallery slideshow but not the multiple swfs.

Getting onto the author about it, but if anyone knows a workaround, I'd be really delighted if you could share it.
