Excerpts on Main Blog Page, Blog Entry Title in Post?

Hi All,

My first HTML to WP conversion is just about finished, using Thematic. I love the framework!

I have two remaining issues that I'm left scratching my head about. Perhaps someone can explain how I can:

1. Change the blog page template to display only a set amount of words from the post, such as 250 (or insert text from the 'Excerpt' post field)? Here's the page in question: http://beta.superyachtsinc.com/?page_id=14

2. On the blog page itself, the post title does not appear at the top. Any idea where I went wrong? Here's an example of that: http://beta.superyachtsinc.com/?p=214

Any help would be appreciated!
