    Hey everyone

    I downloaded the Thematic Power Theme, absolutely love the elegance it has,
    and would love to even minimize it.

    * So far I managed - not really, but somehow - to remove the primary sidebar-row.
    As I only wanted one. I kept the 2nd row. But now the "broder" on the left of course is missing, as the primary row is missing. Any tipps onfixing this?

    * The crown could be remobved how? My problem is always, that I never learnt CSS/HTML only learning by doing really quickly, and I realize I probably need to remove code not at just one place but various places (in the editor) to remove things...

    * Same goes for the category-section right below the "Pages"-Menu/Navigation, below the empty box. I won't need the categories and would like to remove them completely. Where do I have to remove what code? I removed various lines and was rather lucky, but 2 words would always stay, so... help is appreciated!

    * And very last: Not everything is GEORGIA and I could not find any "font-family"-code in the stylesheet(s) nor did adding the info to the body-style information help. Easy way to fix this? (I'm referring ie. to the title of the blog on the upper left, and the titles of the pages etc.

    If it helps, what I'm trying to set up is here:

    Your time and effort would be oh so very appreciated! Really! Thank you so much and forgive my rather basic knowledge. Sometimes ne is stuck with logic and rather than shooting through all the scripts leaving chaos I prefer to ask you guys! Invested a few hrs already but guess I hand it over now.
    Thank you.

    Lia
    PS: yes, I read/searched the forum for this. For fonts I found this: http://forums.themeshaper.com/topic/how-to-change-fonts but it would be funny to create something big and ew just to make everything Georgia, when most of the site already is?

  2. all css/stylesheet questions should first be attacked using firebug.

    http://www.getfirebug.com

    for instance the class .entry-title has an Arial font.... get rid of this and that should default you back to the body font which I believe is georgia.

    i dont know what you mean by a "crown", so I can't help there.

    getting rid of the categories menu... i just downloaded the Power Blog child theme... and when you open up functions.php... one of the first functions is

    // Add a drop down category menu
    function childtheme_category_menu() { if(!is_page()) { ?>
        <div id="category-access">
            <div id="category-menu" class="menu">
                <div class="menu-title"><?php _e('Categories:', 'thematic'); ?></div>
                <ul id="category-nav" class="sf-menu">
                    <?php wp_list_categories('title_li='); ?>
                </ul>
            </div>
        </div>
    <?php } }
    add_action('thematic_belowheader','childtheme_category_menu', 5);

    just comment out the add_action

    add_action('thematic_belowheader','childtheme_category_menu', 5);

    if that works then you could conceivably delete the whole function from above.

    good luck.

    Thanks Helga I'll try these straight away!

    I think, defined as "crown" in the script is the box
    in which I now have "Welcome + text" above the right sidebar, sitting
    on top of it (thus the name?) Maybe I can "switch it off" the same way as you suggested for the category menu.

    Thank you!
