  1. I'm new to Thematic and I have used some code from the forum to add my logo, but, I can't seem to move it around the header. It's in a bad location and I just want it off to the side. how can I do that?

    Also, when i add a new page - I get a "edit" link on that page which leads me to the admin login. Is there a way to get rid of this "edit" link that shows up on a new page?

    Thanks so much

    My site is: http://www.blueskyts.com (there is nothing there yet, just the theme)

  2. You can move the logo around with some basic CSS. Check out the CSS Beginner Tutorial.

    The edit link only shows up if you're logged-in and have edit permissions. There's no need to remove it. It's actually pretty useful.

    Hi Ian,

    I hope you don't mind me piggybacking on this post. I did a few site searches and didn't see an answer. Anyway, I just loaded up Thematic and I'm trying to play with the CSS but there's a lot missing compared to what I'm used to seeing. None of the class's or id's that I'm looking for are in style.css and that seems to be the only css file that I could find. I have a feeling I'm missing something simple, I'm just not seeing it.

    I found the other thread where you gave people code to add a header image . . . but I'm just looking for basic color control and sizing.

    Thanks in advance for your help,

  4. Ian.

    I looked at the link you sent to me and I will try to figure that out. Do you think I just need "margins" or "Padding" to move my logo to the side?

  5. well...i've tried and tried and i just cannot get this logo of mine to just be either on the far right or on the left right above the small tagline.....any ideas within CSS? or should I do it elsewhere in the code??

  6. Hi

    Not sure if this will help, but the way I see it you have two options.

    You can either remove the blog description completely which you probably don't want to do, but will definetely look fine, or you need to bump the description down a few pixels.

    The code to do this will need to be inserted into the default.css file which is located in library/styles of the thematic theme folder.

    you need to locate:

    #blog-description {
    font-style:italic;
    padding:8px 0 63px 0;
    color:#fff;
    }

    and change the 8px to something like 70px or therabouts.

    eg.
    padding:70px 0 63px 0;

    Also another thing that would be worthwhile changing is removing that black line that goes right through your logo.

    find the following code (should be just above the code you've just edited)

    #blog-title {
    font-size:36px;
    line-height:54px;
    font-weight:bold;
    letter-spacing:-1px;
    padding:99px 0 0 0;
    border-bottom:1px solid #242A30;
    }

    and delete the line

    border-bottom:1px solid #242A30;

    Hope this has helped you.

  7. Mikey.

    I will try this and thank you for the help. CSS can be a little confusing at first but at least it's pretty straightforward.

  8. Mikey,
    I tried it and it looks GREAT but......now I cannot click on any of the "navigation" buttons......any idea what could have happened? they don't behave like links anymore.
