  1. This forum looks very helpful -- I have some idea of how to change the code, but would love a quick review/confirmation. The part I'm clueless about is if I create a banner image (which I assume I have to do?), how do I add it to the Thematic image folder (I think that's the advice I read).

    You can see here what I want to do: http://www.snarkymalarkey.com

    I want the black and white image of the girl to be up there in the black header on the right, about where she is now horizontally but up in the header. I don't mind keeping the blog name and subtitle, or I can recreate them if I need to create a whole banner image for this. I think I also need to know how to get rid of that nice black line, too, if it will interfere with my image. Thanks in advance, I'm new at this so appreciate your patience very much!

  2. change your #blog-title properties in style.css with this:

    #blog-title {
    background:transparent url(http://www.snarkymalarkey.com/snark.jpg) no-repeat scroll 639px center;
    border-bottom:1px solid #242A30;
    font-size:36px;
    font-weight:bold;
    letter-spacing:-1px;
    line-height:54px;
    padding:169px 0 0;
    }

    adjust the padding-top to center vertically the image.

    Hope it helps;)

  3. This helps a lot, thanks so much!

    But I still can't get rid of that grey line in the header -- can I get rid of it and bring the image and words down a bit so that the header isn't so tall? I've been messing around with the numbers a little bit and can see how to tweak some things, but it's that darn grey line.

    Thanks again!

  4. Oh -- you said to adjust the padding-top... I'm still trying to find that.

  5. no, I forgot about that, sorry.
    you have to change

    #blog-title {
    border-bottom:1px solid #242A30;
    }

    to

    #blog-title {
    border-bottom:none;
    }

  6. but remeber to increase by 1 the height of #blog-title if you hide the border.
