    Hello,

First off, I find these themes rather confusing! Anywho, I am trying to get the complete sidebar that is in Thematic to go from the right side, to the left side. Everything can be left how it is, and I am sure I can delete what I don't want later, but how can I get the whole side bar to the left side instead of right? I am totally a newbie, and any help would be great. Everything is default rightnow so its a fresh uncustomized theme as of rightnow.. I really don't know much so simple steps at a time would be great!

    Thank You

  2. Hi, within the style.css, find the line that says

    '/* Apply a basic layout */
    @import url('../thematic/library/layouts/2c-r-fixed.css');'

Then change the 2c-r-fixed.css to 2c-l-fixed.css. That imports the left sidebar layout rather than the right sidebar layout.

    Hope that helps

    Hello there,

Thank You so much! It was so simple! I have one more question though, How do I edit what is in the Menu? Do I edit that in /thematic/library/layouts/2c-l-fixed.css.. Now one note, I am using a child theme.. What do I change, or add, or edit to change the menu, and delete items, and add items?

  4. That's controlled by WordPress. Make a new page and it'll show up in the menu.

    Hello,

I ment the sidebar menu.. I apologize for not being clearer. I mean like say I want to remove the search bar from the side menu, or remove RSS selection from the side menu. I move the sidebar that was on the right to the left side, and I want to edit the sidebar, and I am using a child theme. Where do I edit the sidebar, and what goes there, and doesn't without effecting upgradability, and using child theme?

  6. Check the widgets panel under the Appearance menu in the WP admin.

  7. You don't need to edit the sidebar .. go to WP-Admin / Appearance / Widgets .. as soon as you add widgets to primary and secondary asides the pre coded ones will be gone .. and don't forget to select the widget area first, add the wanted widgets and then <Save Changes>

    Cheers,

    Chris

    Hello again,

That worked great! I have 2 more questions.. One... The sidebar menu is now appearing on every page. I have the wordpress settings so the blog will only display on the Journal page... How can I get the sidebar to only appear on the Journal page?

Second, How can I move the Search widget, or search area to the top of my page, out the right of the blog title, kind of like on the top menu's line that goes left to right.. I will post picture of my example, also, I want it to only display on the Journal page.. picture.. http://server6.theimagehosting.com/image.php?img=menu-example.jpg

    Heya!

Alright, I have found new inspiration using that tool Firebug.. My question, I want to change the color of my title, well I see I change that it appears in default.css, my question. How do I change the font color in default.css without messing up the whole child theme type of thing I have going on. Would I make a folder called library/dd, and so far just like it is in the regular thematic theme directory, or do I just use one of them import commands, and change it in the directory in the regular thematic? Any help would be great on this issue, and the above one.

    Thanks,
    Justin

  11. You simply have to add the color declaration into your child theme

    Heya again,

dannydamnboy, I would love to do that, however I have no idea how to, or where to do this at. Do I put the "color declaration" in the styles.css in my child theme or? Also, what do I put? and.. where can I find out particular things to put in certain places, and what these particular things do?
