  1. Hi
    I have created a wordpress site using Thematic as my parent theme. I would like to stop the sub menu pushing down the content on my site. I would really like to get rid of the sub menu as I want to style it on my services page. Can someone please help?

  2. you'll need to be a lot more clear: screen shots, links, the code you are using, etc. right now you sound like you just want someone to do the work for you.. which is fine if you're hiring.

    .menu {
    float:left;
    width:100%;
    overflow:hidden;
    position:relative;
    font-size: 16px;
    border-bottom-width: 2px;
    border-bottom-style: solid;
    border-bottom-color: #46433a;
    }
    .menu ul {
    clear:left;
    float:left;
    list-style:none;
    margin:0;
    padding:0px 0px 20px 0px;
    position:relative;
    left:50%;
    text-align:center;
    }
    .menu ul li {
    display:block;
    float:left;
    list-style:none;
    position:relative;
    right:50%;
    border-right-width: 1px;
    border-right-style: dashed;
    border-right-color: #46433a;
    }
    .menu ul li a {
    display:block;
    margin:0 0 0 1px;
    padding:10px 20px;
    text-decoration:none;
    line-height:1.3em;
    }
    .menu ul li a:hover {
    text-decoration: underline;
    }
    .menu a:active {
    color: #ce534d;
    text-decoration: none;
    font-weight: bold;
    }

  4. Hi. I have sorted it out. I just downloaded the scripting on http://themeshaper.com/2009/03/02/thematic-09-released/ and added this css

    .menu ul ul {
    visibility: hidden;
    display: none;
    }

    woohoo it has stopped the drop down list. It works in the latest versions of firefox, IE and safari.

  5. if you are using a custom menu (and why wouldn't you?) you could just NOT have secondary level items. you could also filter the menu to restrict it to 1 level.
