    Hi, I am making a child theme from thematic, and I am having a problem with the the horizontal thematic header menu I am using.

    A test install of my site is here: http://embassylane.com/notes/

    The lower horizontal menu (home/about/about/element examples/example images) is exactly how I want it to be except one thing!

    Every time I hover over the menu items, it collapses my five pixel margin immediately to the right of the item I am hovering over. This is jarring to me, and I can't get the behavior to stop. Help!

  2. Have you checked your css for anything relating to "a:hover" which might have the right margin set to zero?

  3. Hi giantbonsai,

    Line 322 of your style.css .sf-hover li:hover hasmargin:0 that is the problem.

    Thank you Seijun and em hr - that solved the margin problem, but didn't solve all my problems - now when you hover over the menus the background color expands into the area between the menu items - any ideas on what's causing this one?

    I really appreciate the help and assistance!

  5. change line 322 From:

    .sf-menu li:hover, .sf-menu li.sfHover,
    .sf-menu a:focus, .sf-menu a:hover, .sf-menu a:active {
        background: #ccc;
        color: #739838;
    }

    To:

    .sf-menu li:hover, .sf-menu li.sfHover,
    .sf-menu a:focus, .sf-menu a:hover, .sf-menu a:active {
        color: #739838;
    }

    .sf-menu a:focus, .sf-menu a:hover, .sf-menu a:active {
    	background: #ccc;
    }
