  1. I have this code:

    function childtheme_second_loop() {
    	if (is_home() || is_frontpage() ) {
    add_action('thematic_below_indexloop', 'childtheme_second_loop' );

    and now would like to place the output of this in a separate div so I can create 2 columns. I tried adding <div class...> in the code, but the HTML elements never show up; instead it's just the same HTML as the original loop...

  2. ok, this is just my 2 cents on this, there's probably a couple ways to go about this...

    First, I like to think modular, so that I can reuse this sort of work other places, so, I'd create a second_column.php file where i'd build out my html/css structure for the second column. Create your loop within this file, instead of making it an add_action function. Then #include this file into thematic_content via an add_action function. That'll stick the div's, the loop, the kit-n-kaboodle where you want it, allowing you to fiddle with the css to get it looking how you want.
