I am using Gallery a child theme of Thematic and was wondering how you post videos. I have several different things like use the simple embedded video plug-in, but I have also read that doesn't work (I have tried it and it didn't work, but that doesn't mean I didn't screw it up. I wasn't sure where to add the code in the loop). So if someone could tell me very specifically how to add video posts I would greatly appreciate it.

I can convert them to any format. Whatever makes it the easiest.

I am practicing building a website using the information from a friend's site. So here is my practice site: http://www.stimadesigns.com/ctc/

I tried shadowbox plug-in but all that appears is a link, not an embedded video. What am I doing wrong?

When you say all that appears is a link, do you mean it just links out?

If that's the case it might be because you're testing locally. Shadowbox behaves differently when it's not on a server for some reason. Also make you have the video type property assigned in the header so that the tags will work.

  9. for shadowbox to work don't the links have to link to the image or video SOURCE? if you take a look at soupking's example from the other thread:

    http://stevepriola.com/

you can see that the links point to .mov files. on your site they point to pages... so shadowbox has nothing to load.

your decision to use shadowbox like soupking did depends on whether you want to load the videos from the home screen... or just embed them on their own pages.

simple video embedder (from press75) does work, but it wasn't as easy as they made it out to be. if you aren't self-hosting then i am a big fan of Viper's quick tags... for automagically inserting things into your content w/o needing to mod any code. in conjunction with Video Thumbnails you can also pull in the thumbnails for the videos.
