    Hi guys,
    I'm using Gallery theme with Thematic, and I would like to change my blog title (because Wordpress doesn't do it correctly) so I think I have to change the header.php but I can't understand any thing with it.

  2. Hi,

    try this one in your child theme's functions.php:

    function remove_title() {
    	remove_action('thematic_header','thematic_blogtitle',3);
    }
    add_action('init', 'remove_title');

    function my_blogtitle() { ?>
    	<div id="blog-title"><span>This is your blog title</span></div>
    <?php }
    add_action('thematic_header','my_blogtitle',3);

  3. I agree with julianntrott. Wordpress handles document structure horribly. Thanks for this fix. Works a treat. Now, would it be possible to change the tagline to something else? I now have my website title in h1, as well as the tagline.
    Is there some sort of reference table somewhere?

    Thanks!

  4. you can do this w/ overrides now:

    function childtheme_override_blogtitle() { ?>
    	<div id="blog-title"><span>This is your blog title</span></div>
    <?php }

    you can override the blog description in the same manner. the trick is to look in the extensions folder of thematic to see WHAT function is generating the content to you know what to override (if an override exists for that function)

    for example:

    childtheme_override_blogdescription(){
       echo "this blog WILL be described by bacon and i dont care if you like it";
    }

    I'm just starting to use thematic. I'm very comfortable with WP, hooks, themes, etc.

    When placing an override in my child theme's functions.php file, the output is not generated.

    For example, this code doesn't do anything:

    function childtheme_override_blogdescription() {
       echo "this blog WILL be described by bacon and i dont care if you like it";
    }

    But this does:

    function childtheme_override_access() {
       echo "this blog WILL be described by bacon and i dont care if you like it";
    }

    Am I missing something?

    EDIT: Thematic 0.9.7.7 | WP 3.1

    It DOES work with thematic 0.9.7.8, however.

  7. some functions didn't have the add_action outside of the override.. but that has been mostly fixed in the updates.
