I'm a user of Thematic, and although this question does not involve Thematic, I'm hoping for some advice. Still in the early stages of building this custom Wordpress theme, and already there is an issue with IE 7 and below.

On the front page there is a list that should display to the left of a photo (there are two stacked). In every other browser, it displays correctly, but in IE 7 it drops below the first photo. I've tried moving things around, changing paragraph locations, etc. with the same result every time.

I've looked extensively for a solution, but keep coming up empty-handed. There must be an IE hack, or technique I'm failing to see.

Hoping someone can lend an eye towards the needed fix.

  2. don't know if it will help at all, but Devin told me that position:relative was the solution to many of his IE7 bugs and it DID solve my non-clearing footer issue in IE7.

Yeah, I had tried that, but adding position:relative to the divs didn't make any difference. What I did discover though might be of help to others:

There are known float bugs with IE 7 and below, one of which occurs when two or more right-floats are stacked. In my case, I had two img floats right after each other in the Wordpress editor. I was able to solve the issue by simply repositioning the second float further down in the editor, separated by some text.

I didn't have to include any IE hacks, yet... I still have right-floated photos to include on other pages and will likely have to both position carefully and/or try some fancy IE CSS hacks. I'll post back if I come up with something that might be of use to others.
