    Hello,

    http://vedantadc.org

    Everything is more or less acceptable in FF, Chrome, Safari, Opera, but IE7 the repeating background slides way over to the right. Might anyone be able to suggest how to fix this unfortunate problem?

    (in IE 8, borders on SF menu are gone, but that's another story)

    Thanks,
    D

    hi mate, hope you are well

    i can't see any problems with the background in ie on this end, but you do have some weird css going on, like margin 0 auto on the body, text align center, display table in places, overflow visible on the main div.

    try getting rid of all that so it is just simple as i have done below, remember you are using thematic, and all the main css structure is already done for you.

    body {
      background:url("images/slice3.jpg") repeat-y fixed center top #142F16;
      color:#111111;
    }
    #wrapper {
      background:url("images/header4.jpg") no-repeat scroll center top transparent;
      margin:16px auto 0;
      position:relative;
      width:940px;
    }
    #main {
      margin-left:22px;
      padding:20px 0 0;
      width:918px;
    }
    #footer {
      border-top:medium none;
      margin:0 0 0 18px;
      padding:0 0 0 22px;
      width:918px;
    }

    Brilliant, may you live a hundred years.

    Yes, cleaning up the CSS solved this problem and another one as well. The CSS became more and more bloated due to various experiments and attempts to tweak etc.

    Many thanks to you, mate.
