  2. this is an example of how to add a div to a hook:
    http://forums.themeshaper.com/topic/a-div-between-subsidiary-and-siteinfo#post-26565

you'll need a different hook than thematic_footer.... shockingly your hook will be thematic_header

also, this goes in your FUNCTIONS.PHP you can't add a div to a stylesheet....

    Thank you.

So just to clarify, I have to style the div inline in the functions.php?
I can't use an external stylesheet?

  5. WHAT? brother you sound very confused.

    PHP goes in FUNCTIONS.PHP

    CSS goes in STYLE.CSS

sorry for the caps, lazy about using html entities

    Yea, totally confused.

    You said:
    "...you can't add a div to a stylesheet.... "

But I add divs to stylesheets all day long.
Its where they are created, and its where you style them.

But if you say I can't add them there it means they must have to be styled someplace else...and the only other place is inline...in the functions.php...where you said everything goes...

Also, pretty sure you're apologizing for the wrong caps.

  7. She is referring to the very basics of web development. You style the divs in the CSS. The divs/code within the PHP builds the backend of the site.

PHP files are returned to the browser as plain HTML -- that is why you must style em with CSS. Of course, the child theme may complicate things even further since it inherits elements from the parent (Thematic in this case). Best way to learn is with static html/css pages IMO.

Lol, I'm on the internet where everyone is a fucking retard who can't comprehend the basics of communication and social expression.

The biggest hurdle I've come across trying to learn this framework is dealing with the knobs and arrogant twats that frequent this forum.

    I'm done.

Easier to build a theme from scratch then deal with this ignorance.

  9. you being foremost among them apparently.

you want to complain about how difficult dealing with people on this forum has been? based on what exactly? you have ONE, read that again, ONE freaking thread on this forum where we help people for FREE, b/c thankfully most people are sincerely interested in learning and appreciative of the help and knowledge they get.

go build that theme from scratch... i suspect you are going to have one hell of a time "creating" all those divs in your stylesheet. good riddance bro.
