  1. I am modifying Autofocus+ Pro, which is a child theme of Thematic. Is it possible to create a child theme of Autofocus+ Pro? I've been trying but for some reason I keep getting a blank page when I preview the theme.

    The 'style.css' I'm using is:

    /*
    Theme Name: lenscraft
    Theme URI: http://lenscraft.com/
    Description: 'lenscraft' is my WordPress child theme based on AutofocusPro.
    Author: Ron Lussier
    Author URI: http://lenscraft.com/
    Template: autofocuspro
    Version: 0.1
    */

    @import url('../autofocuspro/style.css');

    I'd appreciate help in figuring out what I'm doing wrong. The error message I get is "The parent theme is missing. Please install the "autofocuspro" parent theme."

    I've never tried it, so I don't really know. But thought this might be helpful for you:

  3. That article was interesting, but more about 'frameworks' than grandchild themes. I'm still hoping that someone can tell me if it's always possible, sometimes possible, or never possible. If 'sometimes possible', then how do I tell if it's possible?

  4. This functionality isn't built into wordpress. Parent-->child is the end of the road.

  5. Thanks. The official word from the author of AutoFocus+ is that the way to go is to tweak the original and keep a detailed log of your changes for when he releases new versions.
