Issues about misbehavior of is_home inside a child theme's functions.php were brought up earlier:

Askers were advised to use other methods for front page but I think the issue is important. is_home just won't return TRUE inside my child theme's functions.php.

I checked to see if it works within template files and also used it with Widget Logic -both worked. Also checked WP Options (Reading), the blog is set to use a list of blog posts as its homepage. I also did try wp_reset_query() before my conditional but that doesn't work either.

UPDATE: I can't get is_page() to work either. Guess this is true with all conditionals?

Could someone please check to see if they can reproduce this on their WP 3.1 + latest thematic?

I just made a new thread and I believe this could be the issue.

Which one is to "blame" (love both WP and Thematic btw, I wouldn't be here if I don't), WP 3.1 or latest Thematic?
