  1. good evening.

having made my own childtheme (based upon standard thematic and thematic power blog) a few months ago i would like to extend my childtheme a bit. I came across thematic feature site and liked some of its features (especially the featured section) therefore purchased it to see what i could do with it.

I am now looking to implement the featured section into my own childtheme (just on the frontpage) but don't really know where to start. I expect some changes will need to be made to my functions.php, but is it even possible to add this to just my homepage without having to create new template files for the homepage (as was done in the example?).

is there anyone so kind to get me on the right track? i have already made some modifications to the childtheme, as can be seen on i would like to add the featured section below the 3 extra widget area's that were created at the top (and above the content) without having to create a whole new frontpage.

(if someone needs to see my current functions.php please let me know)

    thanks in advance.

  2. hi if you are looking for something like this .. you can just add a widget area in the indextop if your theme does not have one and use one of the many plugins for it.
