    I am doing some work for a friend and he gave me a few screenshots of what he sees on his Mac. But in my browsers, everything is fine in terms of where the nav menu is.

    here is the screenshot

    Any ideas?

  2. Not just mac -

    I looked at your site using Firefox 3.6.10 on windows and the menu is in the same place as in the image.

    You should probably check it out on multiple browsers.

    so odd, for me, it looks great in all 5 popular browsers. I've had this issue before and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with my monitor?

    I've never found a solution, actually

    here is what it looks like for me

    here is my CSS for the nav bar

    #access { border:none !important;  padding-left:325px;
    top:-5px; }

  5. uhmm well that is weird, I assumed you had developed in IE and not tested in other browsers.

    I can't think why it would be different for you. Have you validated the CSS & HTML? This might identify some code errors that may be interpreted differently between browsers & specific versions.

    I figured it out I think. I called Acer - I have an Acer desktop and Monitor. They said it has to be something to do with my desktop. I really have no clue at this point and will be testing out with different monitors to see if I can get a fix.

    thanks for the help.

  7. I don't see how it could be a hardware issue at all really. Please do let me know whatever you discover. I am intrigued :)

    Well, I didn't think so either but that's what they said? I mean, it's showing up wrong on everyone elses computer but on mine, it's fine within all major browsers. I have NO idea as to what it could be.

    I want my money back ;)

  9. It is nothing to do with your monitor, except perhaps you have a widescreen resolution. If you reduce the browser window you will see the menu becomes offset as in the screen shot. However if you expand the browser window to full screen width on a widescreen monitor it becomes centered. It is your css positioning code that is wrong.

    If you want the menu to stay centered you should enter a fixed width for #access (640px seems to do it) and set it's horizontal margin to auto.

    PS. Remove the padding-left too!
    Edit: played a bit more 620px I think

  11. no problem glad to have helped. It's about time I started paying back some time for Thematic by seeing if I can help a few people on this forum. :)

    PS. I actually quite liked that off-centered look for the menu! but that's probably just me :)

    don't forget to mark the thread resolved if you can.

    done and done. Yea, I am new to Thematic. I've used Thesis for more than year but I hope to do some design work with Thematic and so far, its been fairly easy working my way around. Some decent resources out there if one just looks.

    thanks again!
