  1. I'm posting this so other people hopefully wont have to go through what I went through when I made my menu. It wasn't pretty trust me! ;)

    My CSS code....

    .menu {
    margin: 0;
    }

    .menu li {
    display: inline;
    }

    .menu li a {
    text-indent: -99999px;
    float: left;
    margin-top: 15px;
    }

    .menu li.tab-home a {
    width: 91px;
    height: 24px;
    background: url(images/menu_02.png) no-repeat scroll 0 0;
    }

    .menu li.tab-home a:hover {
    background: url(images/menu_02.png) no-repeat scroll 0 -25px;
    }

    .menu li.tab-1 a {
    height: 24px;
    background: url(images/menu_03.png) no-repeat scroll 0 0;
    width: 105px;
    }

    .menu li.tab-1 a:hover {
    background: url(images/menu_03.png) no-repeat scroll 0 -25px;
    }

    .menu li.tab-2 a {
    width: 136px;
    height: 24px;
    background: url(images/menu_04.png) no-repeat scroll 0 0;
    }

    .menu li.tab-2 a:hover {
    background: url(images/menu_04.png) no-repeat scroll 0 -25px;
    }

    .menu li.tab-3 a {
    background: url(images/menu_05.png) no-repeat scroll 0 0;
    height: 24px;
    width: 150px;
    }

    .menu li.tab-3 a:hover {
    background: url(images/menu_05.png) no-repeat scroll 0 -25px;
    }

  2. thanks for sharing! and nice job incorporating some sprites. you should post the link as a demo...

    ps- i noticed you haven't yet fixed the margin-top problem that is hiding your cool menu!

    Could you expand upon where this should go? Is it within the header file or do I call it from somewhere else?

    Thanks

    Indeed it is (number 9) and I thank you for it, but where within the functions file should that particular excerpt go?; I am currently attempting to add a very simple link to the top of an Autofocus+ page to containing the following;

    http://www.brakelightdesign.com/hdr/brklt.html (draft so no giggling at the back of the class)

    Any charitable thoughts?

  7. i don't understand what people mean where does it go in functions.php. you just paste it anywhere in the file. i like to try to keep things organized (like all the menu functions near each other) but otherwise i don't think it makes much difference.

    the only problem you might run into is if Autofocus already has some functions doing similar things. you could paste it at the bottom of the file and that way it will be last. or you could search for similar looking functions and delete/comment out/modify those. for instance if you see

    remove_action('thematic_header','thematic_access',9);

    somewhere then Autofocus is making changes to the menu. i can't tell you exactly where that might be b/c i dont have Autofocus.

    Aha! That sounds very hopeful. I'll get cracking on the comment out of "remove_action... "

    Thanks very much for your help and thanks for that mega-thread on the other page too! Enough to keep me going for a while yet.
