I built a Los Angeles Dodgers WP blog a while back. I had to move a bunch and during that time my WP blog was attacked by a virus. Now my theme won't work. I'm stuck using the default them or the page is practically not there.

My pages are gone, menu gone, everything's gone, even in the admin, when I try to use the theme I created.

Has anybody had this happen? What can I do to restore my old theme. I re-post all the library files but it doesn't do anything.

    Any help is appreciated. :)

  2. what do you mean by " I re-post all the library files" ?

this isn't a thematic question, but it is a textbook example of why it is so, very important to make backups. do you have a clean backup of your database? do you have a clean backup of your theme? contact your host, mine takes weekly snapshots and can restore my site to how it looked a week ago.

  3. Hi -

I get a good result from this plugin to scan and isolate viruses: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/antivirus/

Careful though, sometimes the plugin thinks good code could be a virus, so you have to train it to learn what is ok and what is not. Then you need to FTP into your theme files and delete the virus code chunks.

    Hi guys,

Sorry for the late response. I've been moving...A LOT. Anyway, I fixed the problem.

Not sure what happened, but by properly deleting the theme and re-uploading what I had somehow everything reset. Yes, definitely a healthy reminder why backups are essential.

    Thanks!
