    I have managed to figure out how to create a page that does not have the 3 column layout. But I'm not very fluent with CSS and child themes, so I'm not sure how to now eliminate my header and a lot of white space on this page: (the password is: "thematic" without quotes)

    I would be greatly appreciative of any help someone could provide.

    UPDATE: I managed to eliminate the header and reduce some white space.

    But how can I eliminate the whitespace below my page title? Even after editing these:

    .page .hentry {padding-bottom: 0px;}
    .page #footer {margin-top: 0px;}
    .page #main {padding-top: 0px;}

    There's massive white space.

    Also, why is a gray border being drawn around the 2-column table I've created. The border is defined as "0" and yet still one is being drawn.

    Again,the link is here: (the password is: "thematic" without quotes)

    Thanks to anyone who can help!

  3. you've still got 22px of padding from the div class .entry-content. If you don't already have firebug, it is essential:

    Using Firebug, I see that the problem area is the div class entry-content, but I'm still not seeing how to actually adjust that.

    I've checked the Stylesheet and the Thematic Power Blog child theme and can't seem to find the proper place to edit.

    Sorry for what is probably a very basic question. And thanks for your help so far.

    UPDATE: I just found a way to edit the 22px of padding in the div class entry-content, but when I did this it seemed to affect the entire website globally -- making the spacing between ALL paragraphs on ALL pages collapse. Not good! So I reset that.

    Unfortunately, in the process of doing this, I somehow managed to make the first line of every post but up against the entry-meta spacing. So now I need to figure out how to fix this, in addition to figuring out how to eliminate all that white space on that one page.

    Again, thanks for any help!

  6. i was sure i replied to this... the akismet fairy must have gotten me again.

    what about using one of the body classes to make it more specific to that page?

    wordpress y2010 m04 d29 h20 slug-dvd page pageid-806 page-author-paul page-template page-template-default windows firefox ff3

    are the classes generated by thematic for the page you linked to.

    .pageid-806 .entry-content {
    padding: 0;

    would change the padding only on that one page.

    i don't see your other problem have the first line butting up against the entry meta. do you have an example link?
