  1. I customized the thematic theme on a local install, then uploaded to an online staging site. its now throwing an odd error or "warning" message and i have no idea what to do about it.

    it reads:
    Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argumented is expected to be a valid callback, 'thematic_blogdescription' was given in /nfs/c01/h10/mnt/14543/domains/testing.styletank.com/html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 339

    you can view it here:

    anyone know what this means or what i need to do about it?

    thanks,

  2. Hi broom,

    If it works on your local install, then you might want to consider re-uploading again. Based on experience, my ftp sometimes messes up my files on upload.

    Hope it helps.

  3. If you changed your child theme's functions.php check if there are any blanks, empty lines or characters behind the closing '?>' or better delete the closing '?>'.

  5. we removed the blog description function from the fuctions.php and the error went away. still haven't figured out why it was doing that, but I can live without it for this site, so i'm just going to move on unless anyone has any ideas. its still getting printed in the head, just not in the header or branding area so the SEO hit shouldn't be too bad.

    thanks for the help!

  6. I'm having a similar issue and I haven't a clue what to do.

    Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, 'fav_scripts'

    Help??

    Yes, I was having a similar problem after developing withOUT the problem locally in MAMP, then got it on the live server. Specifically, mine involved a 'secondary_header' issue:

    Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, 'secondary_header' was given in /wp-includes/plugin.php on line 339

    I looked for 'secondary_header' and found it one of my child theme functions having to do with loading JS in the header for fancy dropmenus:

    // Adds more header items as needed
    function childtheme_extrajs() { ?>

    <script type="text/javascript" src="/js/jquery-1.2.3.min.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="/js/slideshow.js"></script>
    <?php }

    add_action('wp_head', 'childtheme_extrajs');
    add_action('thematic_belowheader','secondary_header');

    I assumed that was something extra and not declared so I just removed ,'secondary_header' without creating other problems (I think). Also, I was able to remove the whole last line without issue:

    add_action('thematic_belowheader','secondary_header');
