   I installed Wordpress 2.7 yesterday for a new client and uploaded thematic. Followed instructions to establish child thematic and am following steps I have used in setting up on a couple of other websites this last week.

   When writing the first page in Visual mode, when I clicked on the "publish" button, the text automatically switched to HTML text, still in the Visual mode, and the HTML button does not work. The text looks fine to the public eye, but I want to assign this to the client for upkeep after the website goes live. At that point, the visual mode will HAVE to be working.

   I have not had this issue on either of the other sites I have installed WordPress or Thematic.

   Have you tried the WordPress support forums? This sounds like a WordPress issue, not a theme issue.

   Hey,
   if this is a plain WP installation without any additional plugins installed, try to copy WP once again to your ISP. Could be a missing file.

   If not, disable all plugins and check what happens.

   thank you. I had tried the forum but have not had any response. I'll try the response that you found. I guess that I didn't search well enough.

   I ended up re-installing WordPress and everything has worked fine since.
