  1. First off, I want to thank everyone here for putting together some great info. I've just started digging in to thematic, wordpress, and css and have been making alot of progress due to all of the smart people around here.

    I've recently gotten a request to convert an existing website to wordpress, keeping the current look and feel (regardless of how ugly I think it is), and ran in to a snag.

    Im trying to emulate, dev site at

    I'm stuck on how to get the background to happen. I tried a body css tag, but that changes the background everywhere.

    Do I need to somehow create a container for the entire page. Sorry if this is a newb question, but I havent been able to find the answer and I've been looking for a few hours now.

    hmmm try applying the background to body {

    change the background color of #main to white , try changing the width of #main ,#container or the sidebar width to match the header image width. Check this link to help you out on the structure of thematic >>

  3. Thats kind of what I thought I was going to have to do, set the background in the body tag, and then back to white everywhere else. I was just hoping there was an easier or smarter way to do it. I figured I could accomplish it that way, but I'm also trying to ensure that I'm doing things the right way. Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.
