    Hi

    This might be very stupid but I'm banging my head against the wall here.

    I'm using Thematic with the Crystalline childtheme. I just can not get a bottom-margin into my content paragraphs. Using Firebug, the HTML code is:

    <p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;" class="MsoNormal">
    </p>

    and the styles are:

    element.style {
    margin-bottom:0;
    margin-left:0;
    margin-right:0;
    margin-top:0;
    text-align:justify;
    }

    and in typography.css on line 26: (which is overwritten by the above code)

    p {
    margin-bottom:18px;

    All I want to do is to have some white space between paragraphs.

    Please help!

  2. First thing I can see in your code just above is that you don't have any closing '}' in your css :

    p { margin-bottom: 18px; }

    Also, I believe you should be more explicit in your CSS to overwrite the correct rule. Right now, you're giving ALL paragraphs on the whole site a 18px bottom margin. Can't you locate the class or IDs of blocks that are enclosing the paragraphs you want to give margin to? To get a more precise css like :

    #content .post p { margin-bottom: 18px; }

    And finally, try to remove the inline styles you have here:
    p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;

    Inline styles generally override the styles in your css files.
    Hope that helps.

    Tomakun, thank you very much for your time!

    The missing closing '}' was a copy and paste mistake on my side.

    I fully agree with you in being more specific and would therefor also use: #content .post p { margin-bottom: 18px; } - which is what I've done now but the inline styles still overrides everything.

    May I bother you a bit more to please explain to me how I could remove the inline styles?

  4. Nelius, what I gave you here - #content .post p { margin-bottom: 18px; } - served as an example only. You have to match the blocks and IDs of your html, and write your CSS rules according to it. If your paragraph is enclosed in <div id="story"> then you would define:

    #story p { margin-bottom: 18px; }

    Do you have it live somewhere so that I can take a look?

    Finally what you're seeing here is automatic styles applied by the browser:
    element.style {
    margin-bottom:0;
    margin-left:0;
    margin-right:0;
    margin-top:0;
    text-align:justify;
    }

    I couldn't find any inline CSS in the Crystalline theme so it seems that your CSS is in cause. You just have to find the correct rule to apply to your <p>. Send me the url specifying which <p> you want to apply a bottom margin, if you still have problems finding it.
