  1. I have been looking for this for awhile, but have not yet been able to find a satisfactory resolution. So maybe the brainy people here can help.

    I am looking for a way to change the author comment color to what it is in Thematic. (I use Acamas, which uses bland gray color, while Thematic has a nice and easy to distinguish yellowish color.)

    I thought it might be in the stylesheet and found this:

    #respond {
    border:1px solid #C7C7C7;
    margin:0 0 21px 0;
    padding:21px 20px;

    ...but when I changed the background, it affected the field where you enter your comment. I poked around a bit more, changing this or that, but never was able to find exactly what I needed to achieve the desired effect.

    Can I override something in Acamas, enabling the Thematic comment options to take over? Or is it a matter of just adding a bit of code here of there?

    I just took a look at Thematic and noticed I am actually referring to the replies in the threaded comments. They are yellowish in Thematic, but gray in Acamas. Can I have a 'regular' author comment color, then have the replies as they are in Thematic (the yellowish color)?

    I just changed the code you mentioned and it worked! Thanks for your help.

    I have a question, though. What would happen if I put BOTH of the above mentioned snippets into the stylesheet?

  4. If it is below the #comments-list li.alt all author comments will have the yellow background. If it is above the #comment-list li.alt it'll mix it up. One part will have the yellow background the other part a white background.

  5. I am having similar styling errors! Some of my comments are coming in with a yellow background (not sure how this happened as I didn't touch the code!). I would like to turn off the alternating coloring that is happening with the comments in Thematic, but I would still like the option to change the background color of the comments. Altering the CSS for "#comments li" or "#comments li.alt" works but not in the way I would like. The issue is that it colors the comments properly for comments on the test posts that come with the Wordpress install, but on any new posts I have written is where the color gets all messed up. I have set both "#comments li" and "#comments li.alt" to a pink color, so on the old posts all the comments have the pink, on the new posts the comments alternate between the pink and this mysterious yellow!

  6. Never mind... so sorry I just solved my own problem! I had no clue the post author's comments came through in yellow in Thematic! I am completely new to Wordpress, coding, and Thematic! The code snippets above worked perfectly! Thank you!

    Is there any way to switch off the highlighting of comments by the post author and make them look just like normal comments?
