  1. This is a problem with a specific child theme for thematic.
In Word press under the appearance section when you have this theme activated there is an Neutica+ option which lets you make some cool changes very easily.
Problem is I need to add a logo,so I check the box in the option menu .
I have gone to my FTP and accessed my remote directory and located the specific png file.
I am going in to the <img> folder and deleting the logo png file, and replacing it with my own.
I am doing a project for a non profit group and the only logo I have is in jpeg.Is my logo not working because I am using Gimp to save the file from "jpeg" to "png"?
I am lost.I am not much of a coder which is why I love word press and thematic.
I was thinking here though maybe instead of ftp I need to change a line in the CSS dealing with the logo?
I didn't want to do that yet in case I break it.Any help on how to get this logo up would be appreciated.

  2. you can either save the logo as a png file or change the css where the logo is called from logo.png to logo.jpeg

I use gimp and you can save the file as jpeg or png then ftp it and replace the existing file.

  3. Okay thank you. That is what I have done and my logo is not working.I saved in Gimp as a png and went through the FTP to transfer the file in the appropriate folder and deleted the Neutica logo and now no logo is displayed.
I was worried about the integrity of changing a jpeg to png.I didn't know if the switch in extension was legit or not.
If it is,then now I am confused why my image won't show up.
I even checked the box in the menu option and saved.
I am wondering if the size of the image could be the problem.I didn't follow the guide lines for image sizes since I am using a logo and not putting up a picture.
Any ideas will be use full.
Thank you for comment and any other help/suggestions I am going to work on trying to find if there are limitations on logo size.

  4. My hunch was resizing would not fix my problem and it didn't. Seven scaling sizes later i can't get my logo to appear at all.I am stuck.
I can create a new header with the code from the other one but I think that may be a little to advanced for my skill level considering this theme has some great features like rotating images while the logo stays static.
I just can't get my logo to work.

  5. Your new image should be the exact same size as the previous image to be safe. Try using a test image at the exact same size. If it still does not work, you may be putting in the wrong sub-directory by accident. It would have to work otherwise as long as it is the same name and was saved in gimp successfully, try calling it directly from the browser to test.

If the image you want is larger than the original you will probably have to tweak the style.css file.

  6. First,I think you are right,I was using the wrong sub directory.I think I went to far into the file system. So I did as suggested and scaled the image to the exact size as the default and also opened up both in browser and also in Gimp.
I still have not had any success however in making the logo work.
I have not had a chance yet but my next effort was going to be trying a different program to use for the switch in file names.Maybe for some reason Gimp is not making it a legitimate png.
I have no clue. After rechecking and opening up the images in browser as you suggested I realized I was in the wrong directory,so I started my trouble shooting over completely now that I have the write stock logo I am trying to replace identified.
Even now though I am having trouble.I now have a logo with a "esg" extension so I am also going to try that as well. This is a site build for Habitat for Humanity of Austin County.
    hfhaustincounty.org/wordpress
I still have a ton of work to do.
Thank you for your help I really appreciate it.

I see these two lines in your CSS:

    #branding #blog-title {background: transparent url('http://hfhaustincounty.org/wordpress
    /* IE 6 */
    .msie.ie6 #branding #blog-title {background: transparent url('http://hfhaustincounty.org/wordpress/wp-content/themes/neuticaplus_1.4.3/neuticaplus/img/logo.gif') left center no-repeat;}

Where you have {background: transparent ...}, give it a color, #FFF for example. I believe using transparent makes it all transparent, including the image.

Forget that, I was wrong about the transparent idea. Gotta be something else...

  9. here is the exact line in the options in my dash board for my theme"Check this to add a logo to the header. Change the default logo by replacing the ‘neuticaplus/img/logo.png’ file."
I tried using another file converter. The image is the same size as the stock logo.I am checking the box, saving my options, refreshing my screen....
    I am lost...
No clue.I know I am missing something obvious.I am trying to avoide hacking the CSS. Any advice<including changing code>?

  10. By the way:In my server, the theme is saved as neuticaplus_1.4 instead of "neuticaplus".Does this matter as long as I am exchanging the right files?I am a newbie when it comes to code and don't exactly understand all the formats completely.I am learning by trial and error.
My next attempt is delete the theme, rearrange the folders on my desk top. Then reload through FTP.
    Thanks for ANY help.

  11. I fixed it.You would not believe how.
I changed my file name from "AustinCounty_clzr_.png" to just "logo.png" and it worked.
    WTF!?
I thought the extension"png" was the only mission critical part but it turns out it was the whole file name AND the "png".
@jrobben and oakview, thank you for the help.

  12. you can keep the original name just have to change {background: transparent url('http://hfhaustincounty.org/wordpress/wp-content/themes/neuticaplus_1.4.3/neuticaplus/img/logo.pgn') to {background: transparent url('http://hfhaustincounty.org/wordpress/wp-content/themes/neuticaplus_1.4.3/neuticaplus/img/AustinCounty_clzr_.png')
