    Hi, All--

    First off, thanks for Thematic and for all of the amazingly helpful comments and discussion. Searching the forums has helped me resolve a *huge* number of issues in my first foray into child theming. I've hit a sticking point, though: I can't seem to figure out how to "highlight" a post title with a background color (I'm assuming they're in a container of some kind, based on the extremely helpful diagram at http://bluemandala.com/thematic/thematic-structure.html). My attempt is below, which gets me nothing. I'm sure there's something I'm not getting about the correct approach to take here, but I can figure out what it is! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    .entry-title {
        font-family:Arial,sans-serif;
        font-size:26px;
        font-weight:bold;
        line-height:26px;
        padding:0 0 7px 0;
        background-color:ffff33;
    }

  2. you are missing a # in your color declaration. your style will highlight every post title... but you could control which ones you actually want w/ body classes.

    .entry-title {
    background-color: #ffff33;
    }

    versus

    .home .entry-title {
    background-color: #ffff33;
    }

    which would only only apply the highlight to your blog index home.

    Thanks helga! Despite the unfortunate lack of debugging (whoops), I tried with the correct declaration with no change. Though, it did start to work when I separated this particular declaration from the others like so:

    .entry-title {
    background-color: #ffff33;
    }

    rather than

    .entry-title {
        font-family:Arial,sans-serif;
        font-size:26px;
        font-weight:bold;
        line-height:26px;
        padding:0 0 7px 0;
        background-color:ffff33;
    }

    I don't completely understand it, but I'm not arguing with the results!

    Thanks again!!!

  4. umm... yeah i don't know.

    .entry-title {
        font-family:Arial,sans-serif;
        font-size:26px;
        font-weight:bold;
        line-height:26px;
        padding:0 0 7px 0;
        background-color: #ffff33;
    }

    ought to work. how about:

    .entry-title {
        font-family:Arial,sans-serif;
        font-size:26px;
        font-weight:bold;
        line-height:26px;
        padding:0 0 7px 0;
        background: #ffff33;
    }
